Johannes Franciscus Gijsbertus van den Berg (15 December 1919 in Rotterdam - 6 November 1998 in Fleurac) or just Johfra Bosschart was a Dutch modern artist. Johfra and his wife, Ellen Lórien, established in Fleurac (Dordogne - France) in 1962. They lived in the Netherlands before that. Johfra described his works as "Surrealism based on studies of psychology, religion, the Bible, astrology, antiquity, magic, witchcraft, mythology and occultism."

Ένας καθηγητής του, ονόματι Meier, τον ώθησε να μελετήσει το κλασσικό έργο του Max Doerner το «The Materials of the Artist», όπου αποκαλύπτονταν οι μέθοδοι παλιών δασκάλων της ζωγραφικής.

 Hermes Trismegistos, 1972

Johann Georg Gichtel (1638-1710)

The first-created image of God before the Fall,
which stands hidden in the spirit,
which the author knows by praxis and [also will show] in the figures of the completed man,
out of the new birth in Christ,
which is to be developed in you.
Johann Georg Gichtel from Theosophia Practica,(1722)

Johann Georg Gichtel (March 14, 1638 – January 21, 1710) was a German mystic and religious leader who was a critic of Lutheranism. His followers ultimately separated from this faith.
Gichtel was born at Regensburg, where his father was a member of senate. Having acquired at school an acquaintance with Greek, Hebrew, Syriac and even Arabic, he proceeded to Strasbourg to study theology; but finding the theological prelections of J. S. Schmidt and P. J. Spener distasteful, he entered the faculty of law. He was admitted an advocate, first at Speyer, and then at Regensburg; but having become acquainted with the baron Justinianus von Weltz (1621–1668), a Hungarian nobleman who cherished schemes for the reunion of Christendom and the conversion of the world, and having himself become acquainted with another world in dreams and visions, he abandoned all interest in his profession, and became an energetic promoter of the Christerbauliche Jesusgesellschaft (Christian Edification Society of Jesus).

The movement in its beginnings provoked at least no active hostility; but when Gichtel began to attack the teaching of the Lutheran clergy and church, especially upon the fundamental doctrine of justification by faith, he exposed himself to a prosecution which resulted in sentence of banishment and confiscation (1665). After many months of wandering and occasionally romantic adventure, he reached the Netherlands in January 1667, and settled at Zwolle, where he co-operated with Friedrich Breckling (1629–1711), who shared his views and aspirations.

Having become involved in the troubles of this friend, Gichtel, after a period of imprisonment, was banished for a term of years from Zwolle, but finally in 1668 found a home in Amsterdam, where he made the acquaintance of Antoinette Bourignon, and in a state of poverty (which, however, never became destitution) lived out his life of visions and day-dreams, of prophecy and prayer.

He became an ardent disciple of Jakob Böhme, whose works he published in 1682 (Amsterdam, 2 vols); but before the time of his death, he had attracted to himself a small band of followers known as "Gichtelians" or "Brethren of the Angels," who propagated certain views at which he had arrived independently of Böhme. Seeking ever to hear the authoritative voice of God within them, and endeavouring to attain to a life altogether free from carnal desires, like that of "the angels in heaven, who neither marry nor are given in marriage," they claimed to exercise a priesthood "after the order of Melchizedek," appeasing the wrath of God, and ransoming the souls of the lost by sufferings endured vicariously after the example of Christ.

While, however, Böhme "desired to remain a faithful son of the Church," the Gichtelians became separatists.

Gichtel's correspondence was published without his knowledge by Gottfried Arnold, a disciple, in 1701 (2 vols.), and again in 1708 (3 vols.). It has been frequently reprinted under the title Theosophia practica. The seventh volume of the Berlin edition (1768) contains a notice of Gichtel's life.

H σοφία του Θεού / The wisdom of God / 1 korinthians 2 : 6-16

Apollo temple in Korinthos (built about 570-560 BC)

 The wisdom of God

6Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature;a wisdom, however,not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; 7but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory; 8the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood;for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;
9but just as it is written,“THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN,ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
10For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. 11For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God,13which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.14But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.15But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. 16For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD,THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM?But we have the mind of Christ.

G.J.P. comments

Already even before the creation of the known world,a result, because of the fall of the human wave of life, our Father, already had created a plan of salvation for his lost sons, which He would reveal the time which He would judge correct. This knowledge however has a spiritual essence which cannot be comprehended, be conceived with the human way of the intellect.
This knowledge is a revelation that can occur when a person reaches the level of pupilship when he could receive the Spirit of God inside him.
This knowledge offers to us,explained to us through His Son Jesus Christ, this is happening when the pupil develops a new mental body, because only that Body can capture this knowledge and explain it,and not the common man through his fragmented mental ability.
Man can not understand the world of the Spirit because of his imperfection, but there is a totalitarian way of regeneration in Christ, through Him a miraculous revelation takes place simultaneously with a glorious new birth in another field of life. This is a blessing.

“Death Star Moon” — Mimas

Commonly known by most as that “Death Star Moon” — Mimas, is seen here in the some of the finest detail ever (and seen here in sick detail). Flying to within 9,500 kilometers (5,900 miles) of the moon, Cassini captured the infamous Herschel Crater dead center in the still frame. Herschel, a feature which upon its originating impact, likely came close to shattering the tiny moon into another Saturnian ring.

The image itself is a mosaic of several high-resolution images carefully placed together to make a full disc image. The lower right hand corner segment is (sadly) in a much lower resolution than the rest, but I’ll bet you didn’t even notice until I pointed it out and ruined it for you.

James 1: 12:15

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, "God is tempting me." God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
Temptation ...comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away.
These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death

Chapter 7  The Relationship Of Christ With Humanity

I attempted to show in my last observations how, in the realm of human evolution, the psychospiritual existence is transferred to that of the physical senses. Now it depends on the understanding which man can bring to bear on this transference whether he can gain a relationship, in accordance with modern consciousness, to the event of  Golgotha and its reference to man's development on earth.
If one does not realize in one's own physical nature how something psycho-spiritual has so changed itself from a  spiritual form of experience as to become manifest in the physical world of the senses, one will also never know how the Christ spirit coming from spirit worlds was made manifest in the man Jesus on earth.
But it must be once more emphasized that it is not a case of individual knowledge derived from observation, but rather of understanding with one's whole nature and being what observation has brought to light. Only a few men achieve the former, but the latter is possible to all. The man who realizes the worlds through which the human soul has passed in its pre-earthly existence, learns also to look up to Him who before the event of the mystery of  Golgotha had lived as Christ only in those worlds, and who through this mystery and since its occurrence had united His life with mortal humanity.
Our earthly souls have attained the condition in which they now live only through a gradual development. Ordinary consciousness takes the condition of the soul as it is to-day and constructs a 'history', in which things are represented as if man in the gray dawn of time had thought and willed and felt practically as he does now. But that is not so. There have been times in which the soul condition was quite different — times when there was no such sharp distinction between sleeping and waking.
Dreams now are the only bridge between the two; and their content has something deceptive and questionable about them. Primitive man knew a stage between full wakefulness and unconscious sleep, which was pictorial and remote from the senses, but revealing something really spiritual, just as the sense observation reveals something of the actually physical.
In this life of pictures, and not of thoughts, early man had a dream-like experience of his pre-earthly existence.
He felt his pre-earthly soul-nature as an echo of what he had gone through. On the other hand he had not thatsense of self which present-day man has. He did not find himself in the same degree as to-day as an 'Ego'. This feeling has arisen only in the course of human spiritual evolution, and the decisive epoch of this development is that in which occurred also the event of Golgotha.
At this time in the ordinary consciousness the psychic experience of an echo from pre-earthly existence grew ever fainter. Man's knowledge of himself became more and more limited to what his physical sense-life on earth told him,Moreover from, this moment the perception of death took on a new meaning. Previously man Shew,as I have described, of the central point of his being. He knew it through the contemplation of this echo in such case that he was convinced this echo could not be affected by death. At the moment of historical time when the view became limited to the physical nature of man, death became a disturbing problem for the soul.
The further development of purely inner faculties of knowledge did not suffice to solve this problem.
It was solved by the events of Golgotha occurring in the evolution of the earth.
The Christ came down to earthly existence from those worlds in which man had passed his pre-earthly life.
By combining the experience of the ordinary awake consciousness with the contemplation of the acts of Christ, man can find, since Golgotha, what he formerly found through a natural function of his consciousness.
The 'Initiates' of the ancient Mysteries spoke to their followers in such a way that they saw in their
considerations of pre-earthly life a gift of grace from that spiritual Sun-Being which has its counterpart in the
physical sun.
The Initiates who at the time of the mystery of Golgotha still continued the ancient initiation-methods,told thosewho had ears to hear how the Being who had before given to man the echo from spiritual worlds of pre-earthly existence that he could carry into the earthly life, had descended as the Christ upon the physical earth and taken flesh in the person of the man Jesus.
Those who knew the truth about the mystery of Golgotha always, as in the early days of Christianity, spoke of the Christ-Being as one who had descended from spiritual worlds to an earthly one.The teachers of mankind of that time stressed particularly this aspect of the Christ coming from a higher world down to the earth.
This view was conditioned by the fact that one still knew enough, from the ancient initiation, about the
supernatural worlds, to see in Christ a Being of the spiritual world before his descent to earth.
The remnants of this knowledge lasted into the Fourth Century, and then faded in man's consciousness. The event of  Golgotha thus became an event which was known only through the construction of political history.
The principles of initiation of the old world were lost to the outer world, and took root only in almost unknown places. Only now in the last third of the nineteenth Century has a stage in human evolution been reached again in which the new Initiation, as has been described leads to an aspect of Christ's nature within the spiritual world. It was necessary for the complete unfolding of the ego-consciousness, which was to come into being in the development of humanity, that initiate knowledge should disappear for a few centuries, and that man should turn his attention to the outer world of the senses in which the ego-consciousness could be freely cultivated.
Thus it was only possible for the Christian community to direct the attention of believers to the historical
tradition concerning the mystery of Golgotha and to clothe what was once known by spiritual knowledge in 'Dogmas of Belief' for the Earth. The content of these Dogmas does not concern us here, but only the manner in which they affect the soul, whether through faith, belief or through knowledge.
It is again possible to-day to have a direct knowledge of the Christ. The figure of Jesus stood for centuries in
front of the ordinary consciousness, and the Christ who lived in him, had become an object of faith. But more and more the inclination to dogmatic faith grew less, precisely among the spiritual leaders of mankind; Jesus was seen more and more only as history made him appear to the ordinary consciousness. The sense of Christ was gradually lost; and so there grew up a modern branch of Theology which concerns itself really only with the man Jesus, and which lacks a living sense of the Christ. But a mere Jesus-Faith is really -no longer Christianity.
In the consciousness which early man had of his pre-earthly existence, he had also an anchorage for a proper relationship to his existence, after death on earth.
In later times his union with the Christ was to give him in another way what had thus been given him in primæval time by nature, through the sense of his own life-experience concerning the problem of death. The Christ was so to permeate him, in the words of St. Paul, 'Not I, but the Christ in me',that He might be his guide through the gate of death. Man now had indeed something in the ordinary consciousness which could develop the complete Ego-sense, but nothing which could give the soul the strength to approach the gates of Death with certain knowledge of its living passage through them» For ordinary consciousness is a result of the physical body, and therefore can give the soul only such strength as must be regarded as extinguished in death.
To those who could learn all this from their old initiation, the human physical organism appeared out of order,
for they had to assume that it could not develop the power to give the soul such a comprehensive consciousness as to enable it to live its full life. Christ appeared as the soul-doctor of the world, as the Healer, the Saviour, and as such in His fundamental relationship to humanity He must be recognized.
The event of death and its relationship to the Christ is to be the subject of my next study.
Through the taking-up of the Christ-experience a Philosophy has grown out of what the ancient consciousness, deepened by the saying of the Initiates, had given to man as an experience of eternity, and a philosophy which can include the divine Father principle. The Father in Spirit can be regarded again as the all-pervading Being.
Cosmology gains its Christian character through the knowledge of the Christ who, as a Being from outside the earth, assumed mortal shape in the person of Jesus.
In the events of human evolution the Christ is recognized as the Being to whose lot has fallen a decisive part inthis evolution. And through the re-awakening of the half-forgotten knowledge of the 'Eternal Man', the human mind is led out of the purely sense-world in which the ego-consciousness develops, to the spirit, which can be experienced with full understanding by the soul in conjunction with God the Father and the Christ in a renewed perceptive knowledge of Religion.

Bogomils

One of the first treatise against the Bogomils was written around 970 by a Bulgarian priest Cosmas who prefaced it with observations concerning another Bulgarian priest spread heretical teachings in the territory around the reign of Czar Peter (927-963). The priest's name was Bogomil, some say it literally meant "God-lover," while Cosmas interpreted it as "God-hater," while others claim the priest took the name because in Greek Bogomil is interpreted as Theophilos. According to Cosmas mainly the peasants were flocking to hear this priest criticize the clergy, when, in fact, the popularity laid more in a historical context.

It was a time of transition; the territory included large sections between the Black Sea and the Adriatic, known as the Bulgarian Empire that extended south almost to the Byzantine capitol of Constantinople. Within this Bulgarian Empire over centuries a Slav feudal system was established where the peasants became more dependent on the nobility. Finally wars waged between the empires, which resulted in territories constantly changing hands, meaning those residing in these areas experienced new conditions and customs. Even with all the changes that occurred the Byzantine Empire was still deemed more sophisticated with its bourgeois culture than the Bulgarian Empire with its agrarian communities. Between the conquering of the land by the different countries the peasantry was caught in the middle, especially when the Byzantines were victorious. While they did not relinquish their hold upon the lands they build large churches which extracted huge sums of money from peasants struggling to feed themselves. The situation became so critical that once even the Roman papacy bowed to Constantinople.

According to legend, probably a mixture of mostly folk belief, Bogomil first started preaching in a territory recently won back by the Byzantines. The preaching of the itinerant priest soon won the hearts of the peasantry as well as the emergent intelligentsia. He probably attached himself to the poor monks, having few clerical ties, who spoke directly to the people.

Their teaching was a moderate dualism. It was believe God created the universe from four elements-fire, air, water, and earth-and established His own kingdom in its seven heavens, peopled by bodiless angels who were equal with God, served Him, and fought on His behalf. The earth, below the first heaven, had been completely emerged under water. When one of the angels, Satanael, rebelled against God, he was banished to earth by God. This fall of Satanael was the basis for the creation of the earthly world. He divided water from the dry land, created all the forces of nature such as lightening and hail, rain, snow, moon and stars-but not sunlight, which was of divine origin-and then began creating plants and living creatures.

Man was created for the purpose of serving the creator of the material world. Thus, the creation was entirely the work of the evil god. When creating the living creatures, particularly man, Satanael managed to imprison angels in earthly bodies so that the dualist conflict between "good" and "evil" is perpetuated in man himself. God sent messenger to tell man of his fate. Jesus Christ was one of them. To prevent Christ from accomplishing his mission Satanael caused him to be crucified; but Christ did not suffer on the cross and after three days reappeared and chained Satanael in hell. But in hell, Satan, as he is now called, managed to free himself and enlisted the support of earthly rulers--kings, nobles, the rich, and educated church theologians-to torment the world until the Last Judgment when Satan and his followers will be banished into hell, and the just will enter the kingdom of heaven where neither hunger nor thirst will exist.

When reading the thesis of Bogomillism one cannot help but be struck by its Gnostic quality and overtones. The major features are purely Gnostic: material is ad or evil, the evil god (the demiurge) created the material world where he imprisoned the angels, spiritual beings, in bodies-in matter; man was to serve the evil god; Christ the special messenger of God was sent to tell man of his fate; Christ and the demiurge become enemies, forces of good and evil-the dualism; the earthly forces, namely the rich and educated theologians are principally the forces which Bogomil was fighting against; and eventually the demiurge, Satan, and his followers are forever cast into hell, and the just triumph in heaven. This final feature is the optimistic aspect of Bogomillism which distinguishes it from other dualistic systems.

Accompanying their preaching these men led a very austere life: they rejected sex, marriage, has no possessions, and ate no meat. They believed the soul must be free from ever evil, and thus, the body. Bogomillism is later discerned in Catharism of Western Europe. Some authors claim influences of Manichaenism are found in Bogomillism, this is suspect because there is a general tendency to condemn Manichaeism for everything among orthodox writers; but the discovery of Paulicianism amid Bogomillism is legitimate because the Paulicians had missionaries in Bulgaria.
